These past 6 months have been what feels like 3 years. Since May, I/we, have had some pretty sticky situations go on. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and what goes around... certainly comes around and bites you on your backside x10.
Since May... Somehow, and someone hacked into one of our banking accounts and withdrew a large sum of money via on-line transfer. At first, the credit union said there was nothing they could do about it... and that we had to authorize the transfer because the security questions were answered correctly via on-line. So, my husband went to the credit union and demanded something be done. With-in 2 days the money was put back into the account... once the money was put back into our account, he went there and told them he is closing his account...the teller starts the process and notices that something just isn't right.
The credit union found our money and did a reverse transfer... but they transferred from the wrong account! So once again the money was taken back out. 2 more days go by and FINALLY our money was put back into the account and we closed the account for good.
We seriously considered banning all banks and go about saving the money the old fashioned way under the mattress.
Since May... My husband and I don't have children together... but we really do. I have 2 two step kids ages 14 (g) and 16 (b). I know 2 teenagers.. enough said right? lol Well, there mother (I hate calling her there mom, mother etc.. she so does not deserve the title) I won't go into the gorry details of the situation here... but my husband and I had to retain a lawyer for the mental and physical well being of the 2 kids. This lady has put us through hell and back several times over. The mind games that she plays with the kids is just sickening. Anyhow, we went through the courts and was assigned a guardian ad lietem for the kids. As serious as this case was/is.. she didn't have the smarts to hire herself an attorney. Each time we went to court she came dressed as if she was in from the beach... tie dye shirt, flip flops, and shorts each and every court hearing. And we never knew how "ghetto" each court appearance was going to turn out. At the first court meeting, her new husband went with her... he was ordered to leave the court room for being un-ruly. He never came to another court hearing lol But one thing that he said is true.."I'm the reason everyone is hear"... so true! Anyhow, the court situation is finally over... it was agreed to modify the parental situation in our favor. I'm glad its over, but I'm sure the "ghetto mom" has some tricks up her sleeve because it didn't go her way.
Since May... Life took over with the weight loss. I ate my way through the stress and turmoil. (mostly the court case) I'm working on finding my way back.
Since May... Work is no longer enjoyable. I really used to look forward to going to work. (no, i'm not crazy... yet! lol) There are a lot of changes about to take place at work and it makes me nervous. A new computer system program that is going to totally change... well.. everything that we do. From what I understand... its going to be so much simplier... which means.. am I going to have a job once its all in place?
Since May... the kids really want cell phones on our plan. We don't have a problem with putting them on our cell phone plan. We feel that they both need a cell phone since the school district has cut out busing and they both have to walk to and from school, they both have started hanging out with friends away from home, and you just never know what may or may not happen and they need to call. Our problem is... "ghetto mom" and ghetto step dad" taking the phones and using them for themselves.. which in turn makes our cell phone minutes and monthly bill to who knows what price. ( they are the type of people to do something like that ...spiteful and makes the kids feel sorry for them and eventually giving into them) We can't have a $500 cell phone bill. The kids have both had the pre-pay phones through there moms house.. and they never get to keep the phones because mom and step dad take them for there personal use. ( oh the stories I could tell about these two people...)
Since May... TJ has had to be in the hospital twice for his epilepsy. Once was because he was having way to may seizures and the neurologist wanted to find out what was going on. The second time was because he had strept throat. If TJ gets a fever, a common cold, he has more seizures. They've changed the dosage of his medication.. from 2000mg to 3000mg. It's like he is eating lunch with all the meds this poor kid has to take.
Since May... Well actually this one happened last month. My car got smashed by some careless young little twit driving to fast in the parking lot at work. Right now I have a rental car.. a Toyota Corolla... nice car.. but not for me. My car is supposed to be done sometime this week.
Enough of my ranting...for now. lol
Merry Christmas a year later!

***Hugs*** to you girl!! Just know that all of the effort you are putting into being a real 'parent' to these kids will make the world of difference in their lives. Hang in there!! If you ever need to just talk, I'm here. :)
